The Privacy Policy is effective from 17 November, 2008 for all users.


1. Overview

iProbook (as defined in the Terms of Use) is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of its users. Please read the following Privacy Policy to understand how your personal information shall be treated while you make use of the Site (also defined in the Terms of Use). This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and is subject to the terms and conditions of the Terms of Use. By using or accessing the Site, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Please note that this Privacy Policy applies only to the Site, and not to other websites of any third party of which iProbook provides links. Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on the Site is a violation of the Terms of Use and should be reported to feedback@iprobook.com.


2. Other Information 

iProbook collects some other information each time you visit the Site such as your IP address, referral data, browser, platform type and such other information i.e. information that cannot be used to identify you (hereinafter referred to as "Other Information"). You do not have to register with iProbook before it can collect this Other Information. Such Other Information may be included in databases owned and maintained by iProbook or its agents. iProbook retains all rights to these databases and the information contained in them. The Site, like nearly all other websites on the internet, will use the Other Information and pool it with information tracking the total number of visitors to the Site, the number of visitors to each page of the Site, your search terms, links upon which you choose to click, and the domain names of iProbook 's visitor's Internet Service Providers.



3. Your Information

iProbook will collect, store or use personally identifiable information including contact information (such as your name, photograph, address, telephone number, e-mail address, zip code) and demographic information (such as age, gender, occupation, accounts and income) and/or any other information (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Your Information"), when you voluntarily submit it to iProbook (such as through the registration page) or when iProbook acquires such information from other sources that are publicly available. By providing iProbook with Your Information, or by continuing to use this Site, you are consenting to iProbook to collect, use, store and process Your Information and the undertaking of all of the said activities globally.


iProbook will not use or disclose Your Information except as described in this Privacy Policy. iProbook will use Your Information to respond to requests you may make of iProbook, and from time to time, iProbook may refer to Your Information to better understand your needs and how iProbook can improve the Site and services. iProbook shall endeavor to ensure that any and all such uses by it would comply with applicable laws. iProbook may also use Your Information to contact you. 


From time to time, iProbook may conduct surveys, contests or provide for feedback on the Site. Participation in these surveys, contests and/or providing feedback is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose Your Information to the Site. As a convenience to iProbook visitors, the Site currently contains links to a number of other websites that iProbook believes may offer useful information. The policies and procedures that iProbook has described here do not apply to such other websites. When you choose to explore other websites through the links contained on the Site, iProbook suggests that you contact those sites directly for information on their privacy, security, and data collection and distribution policies. Since iProbook has no control over other websites iProbook cannot ensure that any website linked to or accessible from the Site will protect your information and iProbook cannot take responsibility for the actions of other websites.


5. Cookies

The Site uses a technology called "cookies". A cookie is a piece of information (small data file) that the computer that hosts the Site gives to your computer (actually to your browser) when you access a website and which may then be stored on your system. iProbook cookies help provide additional functionality to the Site and/or help iProbook analyze the Site usage more accurately. Though iProbook makes every effort to preserve your privacy, iProbook may need to disclose Your Information when required by law wherein iProbook has a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a criminal investigation, a court order, or legal process served on the Site. iProbook may also share Your Information if iProbook believes it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or entity, violations of the Site's Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law.

These security measures also help iProbook to honor your choices for the use of Your Information. 


8. Change in Control

In the event iProbook goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition, or selling a portion of its assets, Your Information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred. 


9. Children's privacy

Children are not eligible to use the Site and minors (under the age of 18) shall not submit any personal information on to the Site. Participation, use and/or access to the Site is strictly prohibited for/by minors. 


10. Choice/Opt-out

iProbook desires to keep you in control of Your Information provided to iProbook. Accordingly, you can review, correct, change or remove the personal registration information you provide to iProbook and that iProbook controls. You shall be given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having information used for purposes not directly related to the Site at the point where asked for such information.


11. Modification 

iProbook may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When iProbook does update it, however, for your convenience, iProbook will make the updated policy available on this page. The updated Privacy Policy shall be effective and binding upon you in respect of any subsequent use of the Site by you after such updated Privacy Policy is first displayed on the Site.
